Adding Weapons from Super Mod Pack

Right now I'm deciding which weapons I should add into this mod from SMP. Note that I can reskin and reanimate some of them if they're lacking in that department. I'm also overhauling the ballistics of the ones I choose to add, and reconfiguring the NPC loadouts from scratch. Here's the list of things in SMP, you can easily tell which of the ones are SMP exclusive at the moment:

Please suggest to me which guns you'd like to see from SMP. Note that most of them are already in from Arsenal, and of course vanilla. However I recut most of those anyways.

  1. When it comes to STALKER mods I'm not particularly fussed about new weapons. Although I wouldn't mind running around the zone with a revolver.

  2. I really want new weapons, even if they're not exactly realistic.

    Like make it so the odd weapons are rewards for a unique quest given by Traders.

    Like an F2000 Prototype for helping scientists often.

  3. I think you should stick to mostly same caliber weapons. I played with SMP for a while and I hated how I had a million different, identical looking rifles each using unique ammunition. It's just too complicated and unnecessary.

  4. I thought SMP ammunition was confusing at first, although I got used to it after a while. Maybe cut back on the number of ammunition types from SMP but leave in more than vanilla STALKER had.

    Also, I think reskins of different weapons are cool too, but lots of unique weapons would be even cooler.

  5. By the looks of things, you've got everything (or almost everything) from Arsenal. I haven't played the Super Mod Pack, but I can't imagine what's missing in that image you linked to. :O

    Are you planning to consolidate the weapons collection into a smaller one, at all? If so, I could make some suggestions which weapons could be cut. (Not many)

    If I may make a suggestion, if OL weapons have arsenal equivalents, (the AK-47 and Saiga-12 come to mind) it might be a good idea to totally replace the older OL weapons with their newer Arsenal equivalents if that hasn't already been done, to minimize inconsistency.

    I once rewrote the weapons info stringtable for OL. Not only did I rewrite the names and descriptions for all of the weapons (some were outright wrong, others had errors in translation, and the default ammunition descriptions are not very descriptive at all.), but also the descriptions for ammo types and attachments. I'd love to help with the weapons aspect of this mod (firearms are my passion), because I can usually spot anything that's wrong in an instant, yet I understand the importance of game balance.

    I still have the stringtable I worked on, so I can send it to you to give you an idea of what I did, if you like. :)

  6. The UMP... it would make sense to see a merc carrying one.

    The game needs more SMG's.


    More bolt rifles would be nice though I found it odd that SMP would include Japanese bolt rifles... I liked the smaller one but neither really fit in with the games local.

    Better to go with variations of different old soviet rifles. Some German ones too maybe?

  7. It would also be good to see the other versions of the PPD/PPSH type smgs with the straight or curved magazines rather the just the drum fed ones.
